In the still, sunlit morning of August 9, 2025, parents filled the halls of PAREF Rosehill for what has long been one of the most meaningful gatherings of the year: the Parents’ General Assembly and Orientation.

This year’s event held special significance. PAREF Rosehill marks its 35th anniversary, a milestone that celebrates decades of forming young women of character, intellect, and faith — a legacy built through the partnership between school and home.

Celebrating 35 Years, Moving “From Good to Great”

In her welcome address, Ms. Delia S. Udani, Executive Director and Principal, set the tone of gratitude and vision.

She reflected on how Rosehill’s 35th anniversary is not only a celebration of the past but also a call to renewal.

“We celebrate 35 years of forming hearts that love, minds that think, and souls that serve,” she said. “But anniversaries invite us not only to remember, but to ask how we can do even better — how we can grow from good to great.”

Ms. Udani unveiled the school’s anchor events for the anniversary year — formation seminars for parents, student leadership programs, community outreach initiatives, and a grand Thanksgiving Mass to cap the celebration.

She also detailed the continuing Good to Great Project, a long-term development plan focused on curriculum enhancement, faculty growth, and organizational excellence. Among the updates: improvements in the mentoring framework, upgrades in facilities and learning spaces, and new wellness programs designed to support the holistic formation of Rosehill students.

“Formation happens best in an environment of care,” she reminded parents. “Every classroom, every activity, every conversation must reflect that.”

Formation, Growth, and the School of Character Accreditation

The morning continued with insights from Ms. Marjorie S. Cruz, Associate Director for Personal Formation and a key member of the Rosehill Management Committee.

Ms. Cruz presented updates on Rosehill’s ongoing formation programs — highlighting efforts to deepen mentoring relationships and expand parent formation courses.

She also announced one of the year’s most significant initiatives: Rosehill’s pursuit of School of Character Accreditation, a comprehensive evaluation process that recognizes institutions with a consistent culture of virtue-based education.

“This accreditation is more than recognition,” Ms. Cruz said. “It is a commitment — to ensure that character formation is woven into every aspect of school life: in academics, relationships, and daily decisions.”

Her presentation also covered upcoming Good to Great sub-projects, including curriculum refinement, the strengthening of guidance and pastoral programs, and enhanced collaboration with parents in the personal formation of students.

Introducing the Rosehill Community

A key highlight of the morning was the formal introduction of the school’s leadership and service teams — a reflection of the people who make the Rosehill mission come alive each day.

Parents were introduced to the:

  • Board of Trustees and Management Committee
  • Middle Management Team and Subject Heads
  • Personal Formation Officers and Unit Heads
  • Guidance, Health, and Student Services Teams
  • Parents’ Council chaired by Atty. Richard Joseph B. Jaymalin and Mrs. Bel Jaymalin

These introductions underscored the collaborative ecosystem that defines Rosehill — a community where every role contributes to the shared mission of forming women of integrity and joy.

Beyond the Bell: The Keynote by Mrs. Ladybird Pineda

The assembly’s keynote address, “Beyond the Bell: Reimagining Home–School Collaboration,” was delivered by Mrs. Ladybird C. Pineda, Associate Director for Personal Formation of PAREF Rosemont School.

Her talk centered on the timeless PAREF philosophy that parents are the primary educators of their children.

“Parents first, teachers second, then students,” she said, urging everyone to see education as a partnership built on shared trust and virtue.

Mrs. Pineda highlighted the need for unity in purpose and communication between home and school, outlining five foundations of collaboration: shared goals, consistent expectations, mutual trust, open dialogue, and shared responsibility.

She reminded the community that formation is not a task but a vocation — one that must be nurtured through daily acts of consistency and love.

“We are gardeners of trust, planters of virtue, and companions of families — one child at a time.”

The General Orientation:

Services, Care, and the Day-to-Day of Formation

Following the keynote, the general orientation introduced parents to Rosehill’s key services and operational updates.

Mrs. Benj Mahilum, Head of Student Affairs, presented an overview of the Office of Student Affairs and Services, focusing on student leadership programs, co-curricular clubs, and holistic well-being initiatives.

Parents also met the teams behind Rosehill’s Clinic and Wellness Hub, the Chaplaincy Services led by Fr. Alex Colmeiro, and the Canteen and Facilities Services, all of which contribute to a safe, caring, and nurturing campus environment.

The session underscored that every service in Rosehill — from academics to wellness — exists in harmony with the school’s formative mission.

The Heart of the Partnership

Representing the Board of Trustees and Parents’ Council, Atty. Richard Joseph B. Jaymalin closed the morning with a message that encapsulated the spirit of the event.

He thanked parents for their active role in formation and reaffirmed that Rosehill’s greatest strength lies in its partnership with families.

“The school exists not to take over,” he said, “but to walk beside you — to help build not just minds, but hearts and souls.”

Drawing from UNESCO’s global findings, he emphasized that the best learning outcomes arise when home and school share a unified vision grounded in virtue and collaboration.

“This partnership is not symbolic,” he said. “It demands our time, presence, and openness — not only for our children, but for ourselves. It is a beautiful and worthwhile journey.”

Moving Forward: 35 Years and Beyond

The Parents’ General Assembly and Orientation concluded with breakout sessions by level — Grade School, High School, and New Parents — where families met mentors and formation coordinators to discuss plans for the school year.

The morning closed as it began — with unity and gratitude.

In its 35th year, PAREF Rosehill continues to stand as a community rooted in faith, service, and excellence — one where the collaboration between home and school remains the cornerstone of formation.

“An hour of study, for a modern apostle, is an hour of prayer.”
(St. Josemaría Escrivá, The Way, No. 335)

And in that shared mission, Rosehill looks not only to the next school year, but to the next generation — continuing the work of forming women who will bring truth, joy, and goodness to the world.
